I friend of ours spends his summers in a fire watch tower in Montana, and a recent photo of his winter home showed a painting in the back ground that I really liked.

Sepia Saturday 316 - Moving pictures
In 1942 Paramount Studios visited RAF Kenley for what ever reason the studio unit needed I guess.
My dad was with the 350 at the time but I don't think he was present at the time.
The 350 was made up of mostly Belgian pilots.
My dad was with the unit for about 18 months before moving over to bomber command.
You tube has a few videos of flights from the 350.
He sure did love the Spitfire.
You can learn more about the 350 here.
Sepia Saturday Blog can be found here.

Before Pooh. . .
Once again I am letting it be known my fascination with the world of old illustrators.
EH Shephard is of course best known now as the illustrator of the Pooh books as well as Wind in the Willows.
But like many great artists they many times had an artistic life before and after what they are known for now.
Not willing to sit out the First World War as his country went off to fight he enlisted and soon found himself in the thick of things. He found many ways to record his time in service.
Some of his works are very compelling.
