My contribution to this weeks Sepia Saturday

I chose to think of this weeks image as suggesting pretending to be in something that wasn't real but representing something real and taking a photo.

This on is about 1955, seaside somewhere near Yorkshire, with my brother in the front.

They are all pretending to be in a 'canoe'.
My mom in dark jumper, with her sister up front.
Seem group as the first one but other side.

Sepia Sat.

    1. I may have been in a buggy somewhere but not in the photo.

  3. Wonderful choices! Having a photo of the adults joining in the play makes it a special family treasure.

  4. What an imaginative “take” on the theme - I would never have thought of that. I remember digging those holes in the sand whilst on holiday in Bournemouth in the 1950s - but in our case it was just my father, my brother and I in the hole, so not as impressive as your “canoe”.

  5. These are wonderful photos! Everyone seems to be having more fun pretending than if they were rowing the real thing -- and certainly much safer :-)

  6. What a great idea, I've never come across it before, on my many years of beach visits. Good to learn about something new! Canoe the crowd on the beach.
