My late contribution to Sepia Saturday

For many years my Grandfather and Uncle worked for Cochran and Sons ship builders in Selby England.

I never really knew either but mom always talked about the job they did.

Grandfather was a blacksmith and my uncle was a fitter.

The ship yard closed down in the early 90's.
These rather large ocean going tugs were built pretty far inland on the River Ouse.

There house was only a short walk to the shipyard.

But keeping more with the photo theme, in 2010 we had the pleasure of canal cruising for a week in England and Wales.

Sepia sat.

  1. Impressive pix of the ocean-going tugs! I've never thought of canal cruising as a vacation? I think I'll check it out! :)
